WRITER MUSICIAN ENTREPRENEUR VOLUNTEER ENTERTAINMENT/MEDIA
Jacy Jenkins graduated from The University of Georgia, then spent 3 years serving the inner-city in Los Angeles, with over 200 ministries, through The Dream Center. Jacy returned to Georgia to serve her home town intermittently working with residential treatment services for boys and girls at Twin Cedars, domestic violence at Hope Harbour as a legal advocate, Russell County Rape Crisis Center as an Outreach Coordinator, and ministering at various churches through music. Jacy is foremost an entrepreneur who has started and sold an apparel line, a food truck, tax business & pop up shop. She helped set up the tourism industry as the Director of Tourism for Phenix City-Russell County, AL, and film industry in Columbus, GA as she Co-founded Way Down Film Festival in 2016 and Founded Pop Up Video Film Festival in 2019. Jacy was recruited by Fun Academy Motion Pictures as VP of Partnerships/Outreach to help promote and distribute their first animated feature film, SGT. STUBBY: AN AMERICAN HERO, across the world in 2016; now she coordinates as Outreach Director with Fall Line Trace entertainment to keep the dream alive of international film distribution in Columbus and creating an animation studio.
Jenkins is a visionary and activist, founding a collaborative, community, culture, online magazine, Electric City Life, and Monthly Meeting of the Minds. She served as the Marketing Director and Talent Buyer for The Loft (restaurant/venue/recording studio/event space) along with helping book, market, and coordinate CutBait Music Festival. She co-founded the first pop-up shop in the heart of Columbus, GA and served as Liaison to The Mayor for LGBTQ+ issues, on The Uptown Facade Board, Unity & Diversity Board, Young Professionals, Young Art Patrons. Also, freelance consulting for music, film, entertainment, media, writing, marketing, festivals, events, fundraisers and volunteering for Safehouse Ministries, Take the City, Music Entertainment Council, and more. Jacy worked with OLAN, Jason Ezell, and more producers, to create her first demo and remix, “RAISED”, released in March and May of 2022; Jacy continues writing, playing and creating music, learning to produce, working with The Collective at The Loft Recording Studios, while booking and developing other artists.
The newest film venture, partnered with Benjamin Johnson, is Linwood Pictures- which is creating documentaries, television series, and feature films. The first project is a biography documentary on “Ma” Rainey called “The Mother of Blues” with filming starting on April 26, 2023 (MaRainey’s birthday) at MaRainey’s house. Also, Jacy is helping The Music Entertainment Council organize the “MaFest”, a music and arts festival tent-revival style, on Mother’s Day Weekend of 2024 in Columbus, Georgia.
